Branding Removal
This type of license is not supported for Cloud accounts. Only owners of the self-hosted version can use this type of licensing and remove activeCollab branding from their setup.
In activeCollab, there is a small "activeCollab Powered" logo at the bottom right corner of the interface:
The activeCollab Self-hosted License Agreement prohibits removing this logo from the footer, unless you have purchased the Branding Removal license. This license will enable you to "hide" the activeCollab logo from all pages that are available to your Client users. The only exception is the Administration area, where the "activeCollab powered" logo will always be visible.
Removing the "activeCollab powered" graphic from the footer of activeCollab pages without a Branding Removal license will result in activeCollab license termination and will be treated as a A51 d.o.o. copyright violation.
What is the Branding Removal License? #
Here are a few facts that will help you better understand the Branding Removal license:
- The license offers added value if you do not wish that your customers know what project management system you are using.
- Branding Removal is a lifetime license, meaning that, once purchased, you can use it as long as you like. No additional fees or annual renewals are required.
On the other hand, the Branding Removal license is not a White Label license and the all conditions from the activeCollab self-hosted License Agreement still apply. This means that you cannot:
- Brand the product under your name and/or claim that activeCollab is your product.
- Use activeCollab as a foundation for a new product or service.
- Redistribute the system (in the form of an installable script or as a service).
In other words, the license does not grant you permission to re-brand the system and to sell it as your own product.
You can offer activeCollab to your customers, but you can charge for added value services only (such as installation, customization, localization, maintenance, training etc.) and not for the software itself. Your customers need to be aware that they are using activeCollab and that they are paying you only for the additional services.
Purchasing the Branding Removal License #
You can purchase the Branding Removal license from your My activeCollab page. All the details about your license are stored here, including the option to purchase additional services or licenses.
The price of the Branding Removal license is $199.
Installing the Branding Removal License #
Once you have purchased the Branding Removal License, go to the Administration Panel of your activeCollab and click on the Refresh button. After the version and license information has been refreshed, you should be able to see that Branding Removal has been applied. Refresh the page in your browser (by pressing Ctrl + R or Cmd + R) and check that the "activeCollab Powered" graphic has been removed from the bottom right corner of the interface.
Please note that you cannot place your company logo in the place of the "activeCollab Powered" logo. If you are a Branding Removal license owner, the activeCollab logo cannot be replaced, it can only be removed.
